Blue Mac Strategy ("Blue Mac", "we") respects your privacy and follows the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who is responsible

Blue Mac Strategy, Cape Town, South Africa, is the responsible party for your personal information. Our Information Officer is the owner of Blue Mac Strategy, who you can reach at bluemacstrategy@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

• Account details: your email address, password (stored encrypted by our login provider) and the name you choose to show.
• Contact and payment details: your WhatsApp number and name when you message us, and your proof of payment. Card payments are handled by PayFast, and we never see your card number.
• Your Blue Mac activity: your lesson and quiz progress, placement test, daily challenge, practice runs, strategies you build, your trading journal and any trade history you choose to import. We keep this so the app remembers where you are on every device.
• Landing page visits: we count anonymous visits and clicks using a random code stored in your browser. We don't store your IP address or name for this, and we don't use advertising or tracking companies.

3. Why we use it

• to create your account, give you access and keep your progress;
• to confirm payments and manage your membership;
• to answer your questions and send you important messages about your account;
• to keep Blue Mac secure and improve it.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

4. Who helps us

We use trusted service providers who process information on our behalf:

• Supabase stores accounts and app data on servers in Ireland (EU);
• Vercel hosts the website and app;
• PayFast processes card payments;
• Anthropic (Claude) writes the AI notes on trade ideas. We send only your trade-plan answers, prices and any chart screenshots you upload, never your name or email.

Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information, except records we must keep by law (for example payment records for tax purposes, normally 5 years).

6. Security

Your connection to Blue Mac is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted, the app's code is only served to logged-in members, and each member can only see their own data.

7. Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email bluemacstrategy@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: inforegulator.org.za.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
